Industrial output in South Korea experienced a minor contraction of 0.1% on a seasonally adjusted basis in June, according to data released by Statistics Korea on Wednesday. This figure exceeded expectations, which had anticipated a more significant decline of 0.7% following a 0.8% drop in May.
On an annual basis, industrial output grew by 0.5%.
Additionally, retail sales saw a monthly increase of 1.0%, driven by heightened demand for automobiles. This follows a 0.2% decrease in sales recorded in the preceding month.
