Lithuania’s annual inflation rate rose to 5.7% in June 2026 from 5.5% in May, reaching its highest level since September 2023. Price growth accelerated for housing and utilities (12.0% vs 8.3% in May), alcoholic beverages and tobacco (7.8% vs 7.7%), furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance (1.2% vs 0.8%), food and non-alcoholic beverages (0.1% vs 0.0%), health (3.8% vs 3.6%), education (5.0% vs 4.4%), insurance and financial services (5.6% vs 5.0%), and miscellaneous goods and services (5.8% vs 4.7%). Clothing and footwear prices also rebounded (1.7% vs -0.6%). By contrast, inflation slowed in transport (13.4% vs 16.2%), information and communication (3.1% vs 3.6%), recreation, sport and culture (5.8% vs 6.1%), and restaurants and accommodation (6.1% vs 6.5%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 0.5% in June, following a 0.1% decline in May.
