Croatia Industrial Output Rises to 7-Month High

Industrial production in Croatia increased by 4.3% year-on-year in June 2026, reversing a 1.1% decline in May and posting the strongest expansion since November 2025. Output of intermediate goods surged (14.8% vs 0.4% in May), while contractions eased for capital goods (-7.3% vs -11.3%) and non-durable consumer goods (-1.6% vs -2.8%). In contrast, growth in energy production lost momentum (1.2% vs 4.6%), and output of durable consumer goods fell more sharply (-13.8% vs -11.2%).

By sector, manufacturing output rebounded by 4.0% following a 2.5% drop in May, supported by stronger production of food products (6.2% vs 0.7%), basic metals (9.3% vs 5.6%), electrical equipment (94.5% vs 13.6%), and motor vehicles, trailers, and semi-trailers (14.4% vs 3.8%). In contrast, mining and quarrying contracted further (-6.5% vs -5.1%), while output in electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning turned negative (-0.7% vs 0.9%). On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, overall industrial activity rose 5.3% in June, following a 1.9% decline in May.
