Czech GDP Growth Quickens to 0.5% in Q3 2026, Extending Modest Expansion

The Czech Republic’s economy accelerated modestly in the third quarter of 2026, with gross domestic product (GDP) rising 0.5% quarter-on-quarter, up from a 0.3% increase in the previous three months. The latest figures, updated on 30 October 2026, indicate a steady but cautious improvement in economic momentum.

In the second quarter of 2026, GDP had grown 0.3% compared with the first quarter, setting a baseline of moderate recovery. The stronger 0.5% quarter-on-quarter expansion in the third quarter suggests that output continued to firm, albeit at a still measured pace.

On a quarter-over-quarter comparison basis, the data show that the Czech economy has now posted two consecutive quarters of positive growth, with the “actual” reading for Q3 2026 improving on the “previous” Q2 2026 performance. While the increase remains modest, the upward shift from 0.3% to 0.5% points to a gradual strengthening in underlying activity.
