Hungary’s Manufacturing PMI Softens Slightly in October, Remains in Expansion Zone

Hungary’s manufacturing sector maintained its growth momentum in October 2026, though at a marginally slower pace, according to the latest Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) data updated on 2 November 2026. The Manufacturing PMI edged down to 53.1 in October from 53.3 in September 2026, remaining comfortably above the 50-point threshold that separates expansion from contraction.

The slight dip suggests that while factory activity is still expanding, the pace of growth has eased compared with the previous month. The continuation of a PMI reading above 50 for October indicates ongoing resilience in Hungary’s manufacturing sector, albeit with signs of a modest cooling in momentum heading into the final quarter of the year.
