Poland’s S&P Global Manufacturing PMI rose to 50 in October 2026 from 49 in September, reaching the expansion threshold after seventeen consecutive months of contraction and indicating a possible turning point in the sector’s prolonged downturn. The improvement was underpinned by renewed growth in employment and export orders, while output remained broadly stable and the decline in total new orders slowed to its weakest pace since October 2025. Employment increased for only the second time in 18 months, and manufacturers raised their purchasing activity for the first time in five months. However, input cost inflation accelerated to its highest level since June, reflecting higher prices for raw materials, transport and energy, as well as ongoing geopolitical tensions. Factory-gate prices continued to rise, though at a slightly slower rate. Business confidence stayed positive, supported by expectations of stronger demand, new customers and improving market conditions, even though sentiment eased somewhat compared with September.
