The S&P Global Eurozone Manufacturing PMI slipped to 52.7 in October 2026 from September’s four-year high of 52.9, but remained slightly above the preliminary reading of 52.4, indicating ongoing expansion in the manufacturing sector. While output growth eased to a four-month low, it stayed broadly solid. Overall new orders rose at a more moderate pace, yet employment continued to grow and purchasing activity expanded at its fastest rate since May 2022. Manufacturers also increased their inventories to the greatest extent in nearly four years, amid lengthening supplier delivery times and a pickup in input cost inflation. Input prices climbed at their fastest rate since May, prompting a sharp rise in selling prices, although the rate of increase was broadly unchanged from September. Meanwhile, business confidence remained positive but softened further, slipping below its long-run average.
