In July, Indonesian consumers remained optimistic, with consumer confidence showing a modest improvement from a four-month low in June, according to data released by Bank Indonesia on Thursday.
The Consumer Confidence Index (CCI) edged up to 123.4 in July, slightly higher than June's 123.3. A CCI reading above 100 signifies household optimism.
The uptick in consumer confidence in July was attributed to gains in both the Current Economic Condition Index (CECI) and the consistently high Consumer Expectation Index (CEI).
Specifically, the CECI climbed to 113.5 in July, up from 112.9 in the previous month. Meanwhile, the CEI recorded a slight dip, standing at 133.3 compared to 133.8 in June.
