Dutch Industrial Output Plummets 4.9%

The Netherlands' industrial production continued to decline in June, as reported by the Central Bureau of Statistics on Friday.

Industrial production saw a year-on-year drop of 4.9 percent in June, following a 3.4 percent decrease in May. This marks the steepest decline in three months and highlights a continuous downward trend that began in July 2023.

Among various sectors, the most significant decrease was observed in the repair and installation of machinery, which plummeted by 46.2 percent. The transport segment also experienced a notable decline, falling by 17.3 percent.

Conversely, on a month-to-month basis, industrial production increased by 0.8 percent in June.

Producers in the industry reported a slight increase in pessimism in July compared to June, particularly due to a more negative outlook on stocks of finished products.
