In its first-half report, RTL Group (AUO.F) announced a 42.9% rise in its Group profit from continuing operations, reaching €110 million, up from the previous year's €77 million. Earnings per share from these operations increased to €0.45 from €0.13. However, adjusted EBITA decreased to €172 million from €181 million, although on a pro-forma basis, it saw a 2.0% increase to €255 million.
Group revenue for the first half grew by 1.8% to €2.87 billion, primarily due to higher TV advertising revenue and a notable increase in streaming revenue, which were partially offset by a decline in content revenue from Fremantle. Organically, Group revenue also saw a 1.8% increase. On a pro-forma basis, revenue climbed 2.1% to €3.17 billion. Streaming subscribers rose by 25% to 6.3 million.
RTL Group has reaffirmed its full-year guidance and stated that it remains on track to achieve long-term streaming targets and profitability by 2026.
