Finland Industrial Production Recovers Strongly In June

Finland's industrial production witnessed its first rise in four months this June, primarily fueled by substantial growth in the utility and chemical sectors, according to data released by Statistics Finland on Friday.

Industrial output saw a year-over-year increase of 3.1 percent in June, rebounding from a 5.8 percent decline in the previous month. This marks the most significant expansion in fifteen months.

Notably, output in the utility sector alone surged by 15.8 percent annually in June, while the chemical industry experienced a robust growth of 10.2 percent.

Manufacturing production climbed by 2.2 percent compared to the same period last year, and the electrical industry’s output rose by 6.8 percent. Conversely, mining and quarrying output remained unchanged.

On a month-to-month basis, industrial production inched up by 0.3 percent, following a 0.2 percent increase in May.
