FX.co ★ Japan Inflation Slows To 2.5% On Year In September

Nationwide consumer prices in Japan saw a year-on-year increase of 2.5 percent in September, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications' report released on Friday. This figure fell short of the anticipated 2.7 percent and marked a decline from the 3.0 percent recorded in August.

On a month-to-month basis, the overall inflation rate decreased by 0.3 percent, following a 0.5 percent rise in the previous month.

The national core Consumer Price Index (CPI) showed a year-on-year increase of 2.4 percent, surpassing the projected rise of 2.3 percent. However, this was a decrease from the 2.8 percent observed in the prior month. Additionally, the core CPI experienced a 0.2 percent month-on-month increase, a decrease from the 0.5 percent growth noted in August.
