Vehicle Production in Brazil Down 12.6% in March

In March 2025, vehicle production in Brazil—which includes passenger cars, light utility vehicles, trucks, and buses—experienced a 12.6% decline, resulting in a total output of 190,008 units, as reported by Anfavea, the association representing automakers. Exports also experienced a downturn, decreasing by 19% compared to February, with a total of 38,900 units shipped abroad. Conversely, licensing figures saw a 5.7% rise from the previous month, signaling a modest increase in domestic sales to 195,536 units. Despite the reduction in exports, overall production levels remained relatively steady, which aided in maintaining employment within the sector. Additionally, imports saw a rise to 37,600 units, spurred by increased demand for electric and hybrid vehicles.
