Within the private sector, approvals for dwellings excluding houses decreased by 1.5%, following a notable 14.0% surge in January that was the highest in two years. In contrast, approvals for private sector houses saw a modest increase of 1.0%, down from a 1.4% rise previously. Regionally, dwelling approvals witnessed a significant decrease in New South Wales by 44.1%, while notable expansions were recorded in Victoria (36.4%), Queensland (13.0%), Western Australia (17.1%), South Australia (5.4%), and Tasmania (61.3%).
