In May 2025, Kuwait recorded an annual inflation rate of 2.25%, maintaining the same level as the previous month and marking its most moderate rate since September 2020. The food and beverage sector saw a slight price increase (4.72% compared to 4.61% in April). Meanwhile, inflation rates remained steady in various categories: housing services (0.74%), health (3.79%), communication (0.64%), recreation and culture (1.92%), education (0.87%), restaurants and hotels (1.50%), and miscellaneous goods and services (4.90%). Conversely, there was a marginal drop in costs for clothing and footwear (4.09% down from 4.10%), along with home furnishings and maintenance equipment (3.38% compared to 3.46%), while cigarette and tobacco prices remained unchanged. Transport costs experienced the same decline rate as the previous month, at -1.05%. Monthly consumer prices rose by 0.15% in May, aligning with the previous month's increase.
