In July 2025, Argentina experienced a 19.6% increase in retail sales compared to the same period the previous year, when measured at current prices. This marks a deceleration from June's 27.8% rise. Several retail sectors exhibited reduced growth rates, including clothing, footwear, and leather goods, which grew by 12.6% compared to June's 31.6%, and electronics and IT, which rose by 5.1% versus 20.0% in the prior month. Bookstores and stationery stores experienced an increase of 18.6%, down from 23.0% in June. Conversely, sectors such as food courts and restaurants saw a rise of 39.0% compared to 33.7%, pharmacies and perfumeries increased by 30.5% from 24.3%, toys climbed by 45.4% from 42.3%, and leisure and recreation surged to 28.2% from 6.3% in June. However, when adjusted for constant prices, retail sales actually declined by 9.5% year-on-year, worsening from the 4.5% decrease observed in June.
