Japan Services Growth at 3-Month Low

The S&P Global Japan Services PMI slightly decreased to 53.0 in September 2025, down from a final figure of 53.1 in August, according to preliminary data. This represents the lowest index reading since June, although it still indicates six consecutive months of growth in the services sector. Business showed strong growth in new orders, and there was a mild rise in employment figures despite a decline in overseas demand. Cost pressures remained due to increased expenses in labor, raw materials, and fuel, leading service providers to adjust their output prices accordingly. Looking forward, there was a modest improvement in business confidence.
