Slovenia Tourist Arrivals Rise 2.5% in August

In August 2025, Slovenia saw a 2.5% increase in tourist arrivals compared to the same month in the previous year, with the total number reaching 1.21 million. This growth rate mirrors that of the prior month. Foreign tourist arrivals rose by 4.1%, amounting to 1.04 million, whereas domestic tourist arrivals declined by 5.8%, totaling 175,922. The majority of international visitors hailed from Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, France, and the Czech Republic. Meanwhile, overnight stays surged by 2.4% to an unprecedented 3.34 million. This increase was principally driven by activity in mountain resorts, which accounted for 38.4% of all overnight stays, followed by seaside resorts with 19.5%, health (spa) resorts at 13.9%, and Ljubljana, the capital city, accounting for 12.2%. Taking into account the first eight months of the year, the country recorded 5.06 million tourist arrivals, a 5.7% increase compared to the same timeframe last year, along with 13.2 million overnight stays, marking a 5.5% rise. Foreign visitors were responsible for 76% of all overnight stays, with the largest contingents coming from Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands.
