Spain's Current Account Surplus Shrinks in September

Spain's current account surplus reduced to EUR 1.87 billion in September 2025, a decline from EUR 3.45 billion in the same month the previous year, based on preliminary figures. The surplus from goods and services decreased to EUR 3.12 billion from EUR 4.86 billion. This occurred despite an increase in tourism revenues, which ascended to EUR 10.36 billion from EUR 9.79 billion. Meanwhile, there was a slight improvement in the primary and secondary income deficit, narrowing to EUR 1.24 billion from EUR 1.41 billion. For the first nine months of the year, the current account surplus amounted to EUR 37.85 billion, in contrast to EUR 41.50 billion during the corresponding period in 2024.
