In the third quarter of 2025, Luxembourg's economy experienced a quarter-on-quarter growth of 1.1%, an improvement from the revised 0.8% growth seen in the second quarter. This represents the most robust quarterly performance since the first quarter of 2024. Household consumption saw an increase, rising by 2.0% compared to 1.8% in the previous quarter, and government expenditure grew by 4.0%, up from 3.1%. Additionally, gross fixed capital formation significantly rebounded, soaring by 12.9% after experiencing a 5.6% decline in the preceding period. Despite these positive trends, net trade presented a challenge to GDP growth, with imports increasing by 5.3%, outstripping the 3.9% rise in exports. On a year-over-year basis, GDP expanded by 2.7%, recovering from a revised 0.7% decline in the previous quarter.
