In December 2025, Macau's annual inflation rate slightly decreased to 0.69%, following November's fifteen-month peak of 0.72%. There was a deceleration in price growth across several categories, including recreation, sport, and culture (down to 1.89% from 3.08% in November), miscellaneous goods and services (from 1.97% to 1.84%), alcoholic beverages and tobacco (decreasing from 1.69% to 0.80%), household furnishings and services (down to 0.52% from 0.58%), and education (slipping from 1.61% to 1.52%). Conversely, inflation saw an uptick in the transport sector, rising to 0.56% from 0.46%, while it remained relatively stable for food and non-alcoholic beverages (at 1.27% compared to 1.25%) and housing and fuels (holding steady at 0.17%). On a month-to-month basis, consumer prices rose by 0.17% in December, representing the largest monthly increase since January, following a 0.11% rise in November. Throughout the year 2025, the overall inflation rate was recorded at 0.33%.
