Indonesia’s Core Inflation Edges Up to 2.45% YoY in January 2026

Indonesia’s core inflation rate in January 2026 inched up to 2.45% year-over-year, slightly above the previous reading of 2.38% recorded in December 2025, according to data updated on 2 February 2026.

Both figures are calculated on a year-over-year basis, comparing each month’s price changes to the same month a year earlier. The latest uptick suggests a modest strengthening in underlying price pressures at the start of 2026, following a relatively contained inflation environment in late 2025.

While the increase from December to January is small, the movement in core inflation is closely watched by market participants as it strips out volatile components and can influence expectations around monetary policy and broader economic conditions in Indonesia.
