Slovakia’s industrial production contracted sharply at the end of 2025, underscoring mounting pressure on the country’s manufacturing sector. According to the latest data updated on 10 February 2026, industrial output fell by 8.5% year-over-year in December 2025.
The drop marks a steep deterioration from November 2025, when industrial production was already down 4.5% compared with the same month a year earlier. Both readings are calculated on a year-over-year basis, comparing each month’s performance against the corresponding month of the previous year.
The deepening decline in December suggests that the industrial sector closed out 2025 on a notably weaker footing, with the pace of contraction nearly doubling from November’s rate. Investors and policymakers will now be watching incoming data closely to assess whether this marks the start of a more prolonged downturn in Slovak industry or a temporary year-end shock.
