China’s Consumer Sentiment Inches Higher in February Thomson Reuters IPSOS PCSI

China’s consumer confidence showed a marginal improvement in February 2026, according to the latest Thomson Reuters IPSOS Primary Consumer Sentiment Index (PCSI) data. The index edged up to 72.82 in February from 72.75 in January 2026.

The slight uptick suggests that sentiment among Chinese consumers remains broadly stable, with a modest positive tilt. While the change is small, it indicates that confidence has held up into the early part of the year rather than slipping back.

The February 2026 reading, updated on 13 February 2026, will be closely watched by market participants monitoring the strength and resilience of household sentiment in the world’s second-largest economy.
