US Futures Fall as Tech Stocks Weigh

US stock futures fell on Friday, extending the previous session’s declines as software and other technology stocks remained under pressure in after-hours trading. Dow futures slipped 0.6%, weighed down by losses in Microsoft and Salesforce, which dropped 1.2% and 3.2%, respectively, in extended dealings. Cybersecurity firm Zscaler sank nearly 10% after its latest quarterly deferred revenue and billings missed expectations. In contrast, Netflix jumped 11% after walking away from its pursuit of Warner Bros. Discovery Inc., citing an increasingly costly bidding war with Paramount Skydance Corp that made the deal financially unattractive. In regular trading on Thursday, the S&P 500 fell 0.54%, while the Nasdaq Composite lost 1.18%, as a sharp selloff in semiconductor stocks outweighed a shift into defensive sectors. Nvidia slid 5.5% despite beating earnings and revenue forecasts, as investors questioned how long elevated AI-related spending can be sustained.
