Greece Producer Deflation Sharpest Since 2024

Producer prices in Greece fell by 3.7% year-on-year in January 2026, deepening from a 2.1% decline in December. This was the sharpest bout of producer deflation since September 2024, driven mainly by a further drop in energy prices (-10.7% vs -7.7% in December). Price growth also slowed for durable consumer goods (0.8% vs 1.4%), non-durable consumer goods (0.8% vs 1.7%), and capital goods (0.7% vs 1.8%). By contrast, prices for intermediate goods accelerated slightly (3.8% vs 3.5%). On a monthly basis, producer prices rose 0.2%, recovering from a 1.7% fall in the previous month.
