Saudi Consumer Sentiment Eases in May as PCSI Edges Down to 70.77

Saudi Arabia’s consumer confidence dipped slightly in May 2026, with the Thomson Reuters IPSOS Primary Consumer Sentiment Index (PCSI) easing to 70.77 from 71.54 in April 2026, according to data updated on 14 May 2026.

On a month-over-month basis, the latest reading signals a marginal cooling in sentiment compared with the previous month, when the index had stood higher at 71.54. The “actual” comparison reflects how May’s figure has changed against April, while the “previous” comparison relates April’s movement against March. Although still at an elevated level, the slight pullback in May suggests Saudi consumers are somewhat less upbeat than they were a month earlier.

With the index remaining close to the prior level, the data indicate that overall consumer confidence in Saudi Arabia is broadly stable, albeit with a modest downtick as the country moves through the second quarter of 2026.
