Taiwan Inflation Cools Further in April

In April 2025, Taiwan's annual inflation rate slightly decreased to 2.03%, following a revised rate of 2.32% in March. This deceleration was primarily attributed to reduced inflation rates within several sub-categories. Furthermore, prices in transportation and communication sectors decreased more significantly, recording a decline of -0.76%, compared to -0.50% previously. The rate of price decrease in clothing slowed marginally, showing a reduction of -0.12% compared to -0.32% prior. Consumer prices, on a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, rose modestly by 0.05%, the smallest increase since December 2023, down from a 0.17% rise in the preceding month.
