Eurozone Retail Sales Fall in March

In March 2025, retail trade in the Eurozone experienced a slight decline of 0.1% compared to the previous month. This follows a downward revision of the February increase to 0.2%, with March figures falling short of market predictions, which anticipated no change. Specifically, non-food product sales decreased by 0.1% after two stagnant months, while sales of food, drinks, and tobacco also fell by 0.1%, breaking a two-month trend of growth. However, fuel sales showed a positive trend, increasing by 0.4% for the second month in a row. On an annual scale, the growth of retail trade decelerated to 1.5% in March, marking the slowest rate since July 2024 and below the projected 1.9%.
