Eurozone Producer Prices Fall Sharply in March

In March 2025, industrial producer prices in the Euro Area saw a decline of 1.6% month-over-month, reversing the previous month's 0.2% increase and aligning with market predictions. This marked the first time prices have fallen since September, and it was the most significant drop recorded since May 2023, largely prompted by a significant 5.8% decrease in energy prices. Prices for intermediate goods remained stable, whereas small increases were observed in non-durable consumer goods (0.5%), durable consumer goods (0.2%), and capital goods (0.1%). On a year-over-year basis, producer price inflation eased to 1.9% in March, down from February's 3.0% and slightly missing the anticipated rate of 2.0%.
