Armenia Inflation Rate Edges Down

In April 2025, Armenia's annual inflation rate slightly decreased to 3.2%, down from 3.3% in March. Price increases moderated for food and non-alcoholic drinks, rising 5.2% compared to 5.4% in the previous month. Similarly, the cost increases for housing and utilities slowed to 0.9% from 1.4%, and for health services to 3.3% from 3.5%. Conversely, there was a noted rise in prices for transport (4.2% compared to 3.7%), alcoholic beverages and tobacco (6.1% compared to 5.1%), recreation and culture (1.6% compared to 1.4%), and restaurants and hotels (1.5% compared to 1.1%). Additionally, deflation in the clothing and footwear sector eased, with a contraction of 2.4% compared to a previous drop of 3%. Prices for education remained stable at 7.8%, as did those for miscellaneous goods and services, at -0.8%. On a month-to-month comparison, consumer prices remained steady at a 0.5% increase in April 2025, consistent with the rate recorded in March.
