Lithuania Retail Sales Rise the Most in 6 Months

Lithuania's economy experienced a 4.9% year-on-year growth in June 2025, an acceleration from the upwardly adjusted 2.3% increase reported in May. This represents the most significant growth rate since December of the previous year, driven by a notable rise in sales of assorted goods in non-specialized retail outlets, which jumped to 38.8% compared to 34.0% in May. There was also a substantial increase in non-food product sales, which climbed to 14.7% from 11.6%, along with a recovery in the sales of food, beverages, and tobacco, shifting from a decline of 0.4% to an increase of 1.1%. Meanwhile, the decline in automotive fuel sales slowed considerably to -6.9% from -10.4%. Furthermore, retail sales on a monthly basis grew by 1.1% in June, recovering from the revised 0.3% increase in the previous period.
