Oman's annual inflation rate decreased to 1.6% in December 2025, a slight downshift from 1.7% recorded in November. This reduction is largely attributed to a deceleration in price growth within the transport sector, which saw an increase of 2.8% compared to the previous month's 4.4%, and in the restaurants and hotels segment, which slowed to 2.6% from 2.7%. Conversely, the cost of foods and non-alcoholic beverages rose by 1.1%, up from 0.9%, and there was an increase in prices for miscellaneous goods and services, which surged to 10.1% from 9%. Meanwhile, inflation rates for housing utilities (0%), furnishings (2.4%), clothing and footwear (0.2%), communication (0%), education (2.2%), health (0.1%), recreation and culture (-0.1%), and tobacco (0%) experienced no change. On a month-to-month basis, prices edged down by 0.1%.
