Greece Producer Deflation Steepest in 14 Months

In December 2025, Greece experienced a 2.1% decline in producer prices year-on-year, a significant downturn from the modest 0.1% increase recorded in November. This marks the most substantial deflation in producer prices since October 2024. The decline was primarily driven by a sharp decrease in energy prices, which fell by 7.7% compared to a 2.3% drop in November. Additionally, the rate of increase for non-durable consumer goods prices slowed slightly to 1.7% from 1.8%. Conversely, prices for intermediate goods rose more considerably, with an increase of 3.5% up from 2.5%. Capital goods saw a faster price rise of 1.8% compared to 1.3%, and durable consumer goods prices also accelerated, climbing by 1.4% from 0.9%. Month-on-month, producer prices decreased by 1.7%, a reversal from the 1.8% rise observed in November 2025.
