FX.co ★ Finnish Industrial Output Rises for 3rd Month

Industrial production in Finland increased by 2% year-on-year in December 2025, quickening from a downwardly revised 1.7% rise in November. This was the third consecutive month of expansion in industrial activity, largely supported by a strong rebound in mining and quarrying output (7.6% vs -5% in November). Growth in the manufacturing sector also strengthened (3.1% vs 1.6%), driven in particular by substantial increases in the production of transport equipment (29% vs 8.6%) and other non-metallic mineral products (20.7% vs 6.1%).

By contrast, output in electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning supply fell by 3.8%, reversing a 1.3% increase in the previous month. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, total industrial output declined by 0.8% in December, the first contraction in five months, following a 0.2% gain in November.
