Japan’s exports jumped 16.8% year on year to JPY 9,187.5 billion, accelerating sharply from a 5.1% increase in December and marking the fastest growth since November 2022. The figure also beat market expectations of 12%, supported by strong demand from China and other Asian markets in the run-up to the Lunar New Year.
