Australia’s Export Prices Rebound Strongly in Q4 2025 After Prior Quarter Slump

Australia’s Export Price Index recorded a solid recovery in the fourth quarter of 2025, rising 3.2% quarter-over-quarter after a 0.9% decline in the third quarter of 2025. The latest data, updated on 29 January 2026, point to a notable turnaround in export pricing momentum toward year-end.

The quarter-over-quarter comparison shows that the “actual” figure for Q4 2025 (3.2%) marks a sharp contrast to the “previous” quarter’s move of -0.9% in Q3 2025. While the earlier reading signaled falling export prices compared with the second quarter, the latest result indicates a renewed upward trajectory in prices received for Australian exports.

This rebound in the Export Price Index suggests that exporters entered the final quarter of 2025 in a stronger pricing environment than in the preceding period, potentially improving trade revenues relative to the third quarter’s weaker outcome.
