Chile’s manufacturing sector returned to marginal growth in December, with year-over-year production rising 0.1%, according to data updated on 30 January 2026. The move marks a modest but notable improvement after a 1.5% annual decline recorded in November 2025.
Measured on a year-over-year basis, December’s figure indicates that Chilean factories produced slightly more than in December a year earlier, reversing the negative trend seen in the previous month. In November 2025, manufacturing output had contracted by 1.5% compared with November of the prior year.
While the December reading of 0.1% suggests only a tentative rebound, it points to stabilizing conditions in Chile’s industrial sector at the end of 2025, as the economy navigates a shift from contraction toward flat to slightly positive growth in manufacturing activity.
