Sweden’s CPI Ticks Up 0.1% in January, Ending Flat Price Trend

Sweden’s consumer price index (CPI) inched up by 0.1% month-over-month in January 2026, breaking the flat price pattern seen at the end of last year. The move follows a 0.0% change in December 2025, according to data updated on 6 February 2026.

On a month-over-month basis, the latest figure indicates a marginal return of price growth compared with the previous month’s standstill. The “actual” January change reflects price developments versus December 2025, while the “previous” indicator captured December’s prices relative to November 2025, when inflation had effectively paused.

Although the shift from 0.0% to 0.1% is modest, it will be closely watched by market participants and policymakers as an early signal of whether Sweden is moving away from a period of stagnant short-term inflation dynamics at the start of 2026.
