Italy’s Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) remained unchanged in January 2026, with the year-on-year rate holding at 1.0%. The latest data, updated on 23 February 2026, show that the inflation rate matched the previous reading, which also stood at 1.0% year-on-year in January 2026.

On a comparison basis, the “actual” figure reflects the change in prices in January relative to the same month a year earlier, while the “previous” figure captured the change in the prior month versus its year-ago level. With both readings aligned at 1.0%, the data suggest inflationary pressures in Italy remained stable at the start of 2026.
