Finland’s import prices fell further in January 2026, with the Import Price Index declining 2.4% year-over-year, according to data updated on 26 February 2026. This marks an acceleration of the downward trend from December 2025, when the index recorded a 1.8% year-on-year decrease.
The latest figures show that import price pressures continued to ease at the start of 2026, as the annual rate of decline in January outpaced that of the previous month. Both readings are calculated on a year-over-year basis, comparing each month’s level with the same month a year earlier, indicating that the cost of imported goods has been consistently lower than a year ago and is falling at an increasing pace.
