Colombia’s Manufacturing PMI Rises in February

Colombia’s Davivienda Manufacturing PMI rose to 51.6 in February 2026, up from January’s 10‑month low of 50.0. Factory output expanded for the 11th consecutive month, registering its fastest growth since November. New orders increased solidly, outpacing the long‑run trend.

However, higher minimum wages drove input costs to their highest level in nearly three years, prompting producers to lift selling prices at the steepest rate since December 2022. In an effort to contain these rising costs, firms reduced headcount, marking the sharpest fall in employment in almost six years.

Despite these headwinds, forward‑looking sentiment remained positive, underpinned by expectations for new product launches, investment in machinery, and marketing initiatives. Even so, optimism was partially restrained by concerns over cost pressures, government policy, and tariffs.
