Poland’s Consumer Sentiment Slips in March as PCSI Edges Further Below 50

Polish consumer confidence weakened in March 2026, with the Thomson Reuters IPSOS Primary Consumer Sentiment Index (PCSI) easing to 49.01 from 49.74 in February 2026. The latest reading, updated on 12 March 2026, keeps the index just below the 50-point threshold that typically separates pessimistic from optimistic sentiment.

On a month-over-month basis, March’s decline reflects a continuation of the softening seen previously, as February had already marked a lower level compared with January. The current “Actual” comparison shows that households’ views on the economic environment deteriorated again versus the prior month, while the “Previous” comparison indicates that February’s drop had also followed a month-on-month decline.

With the PCSI now moving further under 50, the data suggest that Polish consumers remain cautious about their personal finances and the broader economy as spring begins, potentially signaling a more restrained outlook for spending and economic momentum in the near term.
