Oman Inflation Hits Highest Level Since 2022

Oman’s annual inflation rate accelerated to 2.0% in February 2026, up from 1.4% in January, marking its highest level since November 2022. The increase was largely driven by higher prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages (2.8% vs 0.9% in January), furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance (3.0% vs 2.6%), and miscellaneous goods and services (13.4% vs 13.2%). Transport costs also rebounded, rising 0.2% after a 0.3% decline in the previous month. In contrast, prices for housing and utilities, as well as communication, were unchanged, while inflation in restaurants and hotels edged down slightly (5.7% vs 5.9%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 0.2% in February, following a 0.3% increase in January.
