Bitcoin Under Pressure After Trump’s Iran Rhetoric

Bitcoin fell about 2.0% to $66,512 on Thursday after U.S. President Trump struck a markedly hawkish tone in a national address on the Iran conflict, vowing to hit the country “extremely hard” in the coming weeks. Speaking from the White House, Trump said the U.S. military is “very close” to completing “Operation Epic Fury,” and claimed it has inflicted severe damage on Iran’s nuclear, naval, and weapons infrastructure, including its drone and missile capabilities.

Despite the tough rhetoric, Trump emphasized that negotiations are still underway. Washington is demanding that Iran dismantle its nuclear program, secure key shipping routes, and cease support for proxy groups. Tehran, in turn, is seeking a permanent ceasefire, compensation, and a full withdrawal of U.S. forces from the region.

The escalation in Trump’s Iran stance weighed on short-term risk sentiment and pressured risk-sensitive assets such as Bitcoin. However, lingering hopes for a diplomatic resolution helped cap deeper losses, leaving Bitcoin prices exposed to further volatility as geopolitical developments continue to play out.
