Indonesia Consumer Mood Lowest in 5 Months

Indonesia’s consumer confidence index fell to 122.9 in March 2026, down from 125.2 in February, marking its lowest level since October of the previous year. The decline reflected broad-based weakness across most sub-indexes. The economic outlook index dropped 4.0 points to 130.4, while income expectations for the next six months fell 3.0 points to 137.7. Expectations for job availability over the next six months also weakened, decreasing 3.7 points to 128.0. The index for purchases of durable goods compared with six months earlier declined 2.8 points to 109.2, and job availability relative to six months ago slipped 2.9 points to 107.8. Perceptions of current economic conditions edged down 0.5 points to 115.4. In contrast, assessments of current income levels improved, rising 4.2 points to 129.2.
