Poland Industrial Output Highest in Over 3 Years

Poland’s industrial output rose 9.4% year-on-year in March 2026, following a downwardly revised 1.3% increase in February and far surpassing market forecasts of a 4.2% gain. This was the strongest reading since September 2022.

The upturn was driven primarily by manufacturing, where production increased 9.1% after flat growth in the previous month. Within manufacturing, activity strengthened notably in food (11.2% vs 4.2% in February), beverages (12.9% vs 3.8%), wood, cork, straw, and wicker products (5.8% vs 2.5%), as well as paper and paper products (9.3% vs 5%).

Output also accelerated in other sectors: mining and quarrying expanded 21.1% (up from 19.5%), and water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation services rose 9.9% (vs 2.6%). By contrast, growth in electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning supply slowed markedly to 7.4% from 12.1%.

On a monthly basis, industrial production surged 17.2% in March, following a downwardly revised 2.5% increase in the prior month.
