FX.co ★ Colombia Economic Growth Eases In April

Colombia’s leading economic index increased 3.3% year-on-year in April 2026, easing from a 4% rise in March. Tertiary activities expanded by 4.6%, down from 5.3% in the previous month. Within this sector, the strongest gains were recorded in public administration and services, which advanced 8.1% after a 6.6% increase in March, and in utilities supply, up 4.7% following a 4.0% rise. Other components of the sector grew more slowly, including professional, scientific, technical, administrative, and support services (1.2% vs 3.4%) and information and communication (1.5% vs 3.4%).

Secondary activities rose 1.8%, moderating from a 3% increase in March. In contrast, primary activities contracted by 2.4%, reversing a 1.7% expansion in the previous month. On a month-over-month basis, overall economic activity climbed 0.34% in April, after a 0.42% gain in March.
