Kenya’s annual inflation rate eased to 6.4% in June 2026, down from 6.7% in May, when it had reached its highest level since January 2024. This was the first moderation in overall inflation since February, driven by slower increases in transport prices (16.1% vs. 16.5% in May) and food prices (8.6% vs. 9.4%). On a monthly basis, the consumer price index (CPI) rose by 0.3%, decelerating from a 1.6% increase in the previous month.
