Greece Factory Activity Expands Further

The S&P Global Greece Manufacturing PMI rose to 53.8 in June 2026 from 53.3 in May, marking the strongest improvement in operating conditions in the goods-producing sector since March. Total new orders grew solidly, registering their fastest increase in three months, with firms attributing the rise to a broader strengthening in demand and, in some cases, to customer stockpiling. Output also expanded at its quickest pace since March. However, manufacturers reported a fifth consecutive monthly decline in new export orders.

At the same time, companies raised employment and purchasing activity, reflecting greater optimism about the year-ahead outlook. Supplier delivery times lengthened sharply once again, causing difficulties in replenishing inventories of both inputs and finished goods, although the degree of supplier performance deterioration eased slightly. Inflationary pressures moderated somewhat, but the rates of increase in both input costs and output charges remained elevated by historical standards.
